Today, I am mostly … cutting hair, badly

… but then it is the first time I’ve tried it. Colin generally has a Number One cut (1/8 inch or 3mm) and is fed up of paying the barber when we could do it at home with some clippers. So this evening, we finally tackled his scalp with his new clippers… well, /I/ tackled his scalp.

I didn’t do that bad of a job once I got used to it. The problem came when he went to look in the mirror and then returned to point out a patch that was a bit long. I sat him down again; applied clippers to head; and then realised that I hadn’t put the guard back on that adjusts the length of cut, and had therefore shaved a small portion of his hair right to the scalp… Ooops.

We dithered whether to shave the lot, but I pointed out that that would be a lot harder for me to get right, and that the missing patch will grow back in a few days anyway. So he’s now gone down the pub with that extra bald patch in his hair… I told him to blame me.

Also today, I am mostly … still lamenting yesterday’s rugby match

… in which Wales lost to Scotland. Bah. Scotland didn’t play that well, but Wales were embarrassingly worse. It’s not been a good Six Nations so far.

And also today, I am mostly … hungover

… which is entirely my own fault. It’s worn off now, of course, but I had too much red wine and gin (never a good mix) at Marion’s last night. Also pizza and films, but it’s almost certainly the booze that’s to blame for the very bizarre hangover I had this morning during which I felt fine one moment and horribly nauseous the next. Some cold pizza and a cup of tea sorted it out though, mostly. And it’s the last time for a while that I’ll be doing that.
